Every MGV may become a member of the Wisconsin Master Gardener Association (WIMGA). Membership in the WIMGA includes the bimonthly newsletter and other benefits. Individuals may join the WIMGA on their own, but it is preferable to join through a local association (if one is available in your area).

WIMGA dues are $5 per person and are used to cover the expenses for the bimonthly WI MG newsletter that is sent directly to each member (by mail or electronically), as well as to support the other activities and programs of the Association.

Dues are to be paid to the WIMGA Treasurer by January 15 of each year. Please do NOT submit WIMGA dues payment to the MG Program Office! For local associations, it is the responsibility of each association’s treasurer (or another designated member) to assure dues and a list of paid members with current addresses are sent to the WIMGA Treasurer by the deadline each year. An electronic list of paid members should also be sent to the MG Program Coordinator. MGVs not affiliated with local associations should send their dues and address directly to the WIMGA  Treasurer.

Dues are for the calendar year ONLY. Because of the production schedule of the newsletters, however, the issues included in a year’s membership are from March – January (this is because the January newsletter goes to the printer in December, before dues are paid). Late dues submissions are accepted until July, but any missed newsletters can only be supplied electronically. Any dues received after July will be held and applied to the following year.

Local Dues

In addition, some local associations also have their own local dues, either separate from the WIMGA dues, or both combined. Please check with your local association for their current policy on the cost and collection of dues for both state and local associations.

Instructions for Submitting Dues

Dues are to be paid to the WIMGA Treasurer by January 15 of each year.
When sending in dues payment, please submit the following:1. Email a list of members

in alphabetical order

with addresses, phone numbers and email addresses

  • include only paid WIMGA members (please remove any others)
  • preferred document type is an Excel file (.xls), but a text file (.doc or .rtf) can be sent
  • cc the MG Program Coordinator when sending the message mailto:semahr@wisc.edu

2.  Mail a check or checks made payable to “WIMGA”

If you have questions, email Byron. Do NOT submit WIMGA dues payment to the MG Program Office! You should email the list of members to the Program Coordinator at the same time you send it to the WIMGA Treasurer, however.
